Below u find a link to a German (!) page, where some smaller software is listed. Although the details might not be very well understood by foreigners , u can find a link at the end of each article. The url will take u to the author's pages, which are most of the time in english or at least have an english version. This might sound like a bit of work, but u could also find something useful.

Most links provide software that makes programmer's life easier, but at least a bit more comfortable (layout changes etc.).
