Here is one of the most legendary free games to ever hit the internet. It is a hybrid of a side-scrolling shoot-em-up, platformer and RPG, and it has a nice 8-bit feel to it, with its floaty gravity, art style and music. There are lots of varied weapons in the game which can be upgraded by collecting exp from enemies you kill. The storyline is fantastic, and features multiple endings. What is even more amazing is that it was all done by one developer. He made the code, art, music and everything else, and it took him 5 years to make it.

The single developer is Japanese, but the game has since been translated into English. If you are a retro fan, then I think it's safe to say that this game will be one of your favourites when you have finished it. Yes, it's that good.
